Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

An apartment in the cityIf you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
I'm gonna have to enjoy you guyses pictures. . . no Christmas lights this year. . . moving into the new abode in phases.
-
I don't do lights. The boss does a little, but my involvement stops at making sure nothing burns. That way I make sure it doesn't get out of hand.
I like the candles in the windows, simple, easy and elegant. -
We throw a few lights on the bushes outside, but I'll try to get a picture of our Christmas tree. We're especially proud of our tree topper: a turkey wearing a Santa Claus outfit. Press his belly and he rocks back and forth to "Jingle Bell Rock", gently shaking the whole tree.Sal Palooza

I'm throwing my lights up sometime this week. Weather has been too crappy for me to do it yet. I will not put lights up before Thanksgiving. Pictures will be posted. You can count on that.

The boring, infamous, quintessential white candles in the windows of an ersatz garrison colonial... how New England. :-p
We are doing something new this year. The tree is trimmed with 5 x 70 lamp strands of LED lights. They are very intensely colored, although one can detect some 'flicker' when one's eyes dart across it (presumably due to the saccade motion of the eye and the rectification of AC by the LED's). I feel so "green", though. :-)
EDIT: In case anyone's interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saccade -

Oh, I will be posting pictures tonight...Money Talks, Mine says Goodbye Rob!!!!

My nephew has a problem with eating the tree and pulling the lights and everything else off it so my parents(his grandparents) who I live with still went to the fake tree with the built in lights. Now he finds it amusing to try and blow the "candles" on the tree out since he knows he can't pull it apart.
All this from a 1 year old who also finds it amusing to put bowls of ice cream on top of his head and laugh nonstop for 5 minutes. -
Here's a little over 100,000. Not mine, but my city's. Sorry if this picture looks a little yellow. The application that I re-sized it with here at work is not color-space aware. Or maybe it's my monitor..
-
I did not grant you permission to photograph and post my house. Take it down.
Anyways, that looks great. -
The link is of a local house ... The owner is an Elvis impersonator and as can be seen the house was built as a tribute to Graceland ... At Christmas time he ( and his neighbors ) go wild ... To give some scale to the pictures which are all of the same house, the house is about 8500 square feet on 2+ acres of property. In past years I think he had 300,000+ lights and an electric bill that was north of $10,000 for the month ...

Even though it is not my house I think I have you all beat, I just need to go to that house and take pictures...The house in Mahwah may have more lights though, however it isn't as fantastic, ...to be continued

The pictures of the house I supplied the link to while good don't do it justice ... It has to be seen to be believed ... While there are lots of lights they are also very well done. Someone or more likely some group of folks spend a lot of time every year with it ... You also don't get the effect of the music that's played every night etc etc ... What is usually a quiet cul de sac in an upscale neighborhood becomes bumper to bumper traffic every for 3-4 weeks until late at night. The kids love it.
-
Ive been to that house before. It is an amazing sight. The guy has an electrician on staff 24x7 to keep all of the lights going.
-
The boss (aka the wife) did not put the lights up yet. She's picky about them and dose not trust me to do them. I have NO problems with this at all. I make sure they all work and she hangs them. I have to admit, she's really good at it . the house looks very classy when she's done. If I could figure out how to post pictures, I would.Michael
