50A2000 is on sale right now everywhere, even sonystyle. I just ordered one for the family and my cousin ordered one at vanns.com, authorized dealer with good feedback. He got his with 2 years no interest no payments, I only got 6 months but no biggie. They said it was a fluke and it was only the higher SXRDs that are supposed to have the 2 years. Anyways...
Price is 1799, you get a free 150 harmony remote, free shipping, and of course no sales tax because it is online (you should pay it but no one does). This is a 600 savings plus the free remote, shipping, and financing...good stuff.
Conversely you could order it from Sony themselves, they have it for 1899 and you save 150 opening a new account, plus free shipping, and I believe 1 year no interest no payments. Good stuff.

There are several others south of $1600 ... -
Nice prices. I just finished researching these and ended up getting the 60" XBR2 to hopefully avoid the "Green Blob" issue noted on the A2000's. I've had it a week, and no issues so far...although the price is not nearly as nice.
There's info-a-plenty over at the AVS Forum if you're in the market.

Except that others, such as ibuydigital, charge for shipping. Add basic shipping and you are looking at 1798. For 1799 at vanns you get the tv from an authorized dealer with great feedback, a $150 remote, as well as no interest financing with no payments for apparently up to two years. If I had a big green blob I would much rather be dealing with a dealer with tens of thousands of good feedback, who I know would back me up, and Sony would to. I thought it was a good deal...
Thanks for the link szhleppy, the tvs going to be for our fam, not for me but its always good to read up. I am perfectly content with my 34XBR960...which reminds me I still have to update my pictures in my signature, they are still of the HS510. -
I have the 'Green blob' issue on last year's model 50" SXRD. I purchased an extended warranty, so I'm waiting until the manufactures warranty expires and maybe I'll get an upgraded replacement.

Amazon had it on sale for $1649 shipped until yesterday(Monday). The only catch was that you had to wait 3-5 weeks. I tried to get several people to buy it, but they just "weren't ready yet". Now it is up to $1899.Tschüss
