"Olympus" speaker cables

Okay it has been 3 evenings now that I have enjoyed my new/used speaker cables that I purchased from Russman a little while back and thought I would post my thoughts.
My first thought when I opened the box was how massive these things are. I wasn't expecting them to be as large as they are given the pictures that were posted. The cables coming out of the main jacket actually have the same outer coating appearance and appear to be of the same size as the interconnects that I use. The ends have a threaded banana pin that I am guessing is replaceable, which wouldn't be a bad thing as they fit a little loose in the amp and speaker posts.
I know, enough of the insignificant stuff and lets get to what is important. I am totally impressed with what these cables have brought to the sound of my system. Usually with gear there are compromises but in all honesty I cannot think of any negatives when incorporating these cables. I don't have a large collection of listenable cd's, so the ones that I do have I know them very well.
The soundstage is bigger and more 3 dimensional, music has really come off the speakers, and I mean all aspects of the music. The bass is more articulate, it seems to have another layer as there are times in the music that a certain drum kick sounds like it comes from slightly behind the speakers. I did not have that before. The midrange is sweeter as well for some reason (this really suprised me). I have alot more midrange glow and linger of both vocals and instruments. (more tube like---FROM A CABLE?). As far as the highs are I still am getting about the same resolution but it is a little less edgy. The dangerous part of that is that I seem to be able to turn it louder than I used to. Prior to these cables I never, ever turned the Modwright pre past 2 and 3 quarters and now I am approaching going over 3 (not a good thing).
There were a few cd's that I have that I thought were pretty well recorded but just didn't have that emotional involvement and were a little dry. Such as a couple of Robert Cray cd's I have, as well as the newer Johnny Lang. Well now they have that emotional involvement. I just finished listening to some of the tracks off of SRV Texas Flood and it really inspired me to post this. Overall the sound is just so much more holographic/transparent and involving. I always thought cables could effect dynamics and the overall tone, I didn't think they could make this kind of difference. It sounds as if I added some more tubes in the path....but nope a CABLE. I am thoroughly impressed with these. Thanks go to Russman (and EarlyB for letting me cut in line) as these really were a steal for what he was selling them for.
Thanks,
Mike

I love a good cable story.Political Correctness'.........defined

Glad you are enjoying them Mike, I had a feeling you'd dig 'em.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.
