Actually there is a little. You didn't fry that trilam tweeter. They don't make 'em any more.
You're doing the right thing, send that beyotch in for service. Sounds like a little something or another is loose and giving you the juice.
What a pain in the ****.
BTW, you coming out for PF '07?
I haven't checked out the drivers.. good idea. I will put them out tonight and check them out. which brings up the question. how do i do this? Take the speaker leads and connect it to an amp?
Yes glad the tri-lam is ok. sounds just fine.. I also thought they didn't make the blue mid bass drivers.
Yes i plan on being at PF07PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

so true.. zoom, zoom! i had two RX-7's in my time. an 84 and a 87. both fast cars.. the 84 i rolled and totaled it. i was fine.. only a small scratch on my forehead.. rolled three times landed on it's top.. going just under 70mhp. :eek:PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Yes, just keep the volume down. Listen for scratchiness or graininess

It was a local mom and pop electronics repair shop that did the work. I'm glad I didn't have to ship it. This mom and pop shop, repairs mostly equipment from the 70's. Pioneer, Kenwoods, Fisher... and the like.
It's been running all day without any problems. Although the design of the amp. it does get pretty warm.
+1 for the few mom and pop stores and +1 for them not charging a ridiculous amount of money. Yes, the design of the Mosfet series of Adcoms does run hot. If soemthing was missing inside the amp, sounds like someone has been in there before you.
People shouldn't mess with things if they don't know what they are doing. I have an Adcom integrated which is a fairly rare piece and someone has really 'effd this thing up. The output board is missing the screws which hold it in place. Many of the screw connections that have that goop on them to show if it's been tampered with have all been broken and the speaker output terminals have burrs on them from someone stripping the nuts.
This thing sound like ****.........I'm sure who ever got in there had no clue what they were doing."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? I replaced the fried crossover in the 800i. it was very easy.. lift out the drivers... unplug the leads, replace the crossover, plug the leads back, install drivers again. Took about 20 mins tops. It's working again.
but
I am still using the NAD amp.. and the left channel is coming in and out. It's not a short in the amp... because I haven't put the Adcom back in use yet. So... only two other problems it could be is 1. the pre amp interconnect. 2. the pre amp itself.
I'm going to swap out more IC's first. Damn, this is frustrating. I'll git er done soon.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
