came home after running some errands and walking the dog and found this little guy curled up on the dog bed in our mud room.

he is just a puppy, we've been letting him and zoi (our 3 year old puppy) play seeing how she likes him and if we can't find the owners think we might keep him

cute.... looks so sad.. but Pugs always look like that. IF you don't find the owner... looks like he's yours... which would be cool to give him a good home.

Pugs are awesome ! Great little dogs, real friendly, great with kids.

Just 2 drawbacks (if you could call them that):

    1. They can't take the heat. Heck, they can't take the "Warm". Used to
have to fire up the AC months ahead of when we would need it in order
    to keep our pugs cool.
    2. You have to take Q-tips every so often and clean out the folds in their
face. Not that bad, they don't mind it too much, and afterwards they're
almost guaranteed to treat you to a "pug fit". :D

.....oh, and don't let them have chocolate milk. It's, uhm......well, bad for their kidneys. :o

If you can't find the owners, you've made a friend for life. :)

Pugs are great, I've had 2, lovable little buggers. They have very distinct personalities.

    Pugs, nature's mistake.

I stayed with some folks in Idaho on my last road trip who had the ugliest pug I had ever seen. The thing couldn't even breathe right, it was so deformed.

Pugs do sometimes have breathing problems because of the way their nose & face are, and they tend to snore because of it.

You should NEVER feed a dog or cat chocolate. It is unhealthy and dangerous to them.

Pugs and certain Persian cats have been bred so much for the flat face, it has caused serious issues with their respiritory systems.

I've heard the dog and chocolate thing, but I've got a 14 1/2 year old female cat that can hear a Hershey's Symphony wrapper being opened in the next county that will beg to differ on the cat and chocolate thing. While we have never made a habit/regular treat for her, she will get a little every once in a while. I'd never give my or anyone's dog chocolate.

I've also heard several examples, including one first-hand from a friend of mine with a pug, about their eyes popping out at the slightest head trauma. That would be the end for me, I can' timagine anything more disgusting than a dangling eyeball.

    From some vet website :
The truth is chocolate contains theobromine that is toxic to dogs in sufficient quantities. This is a xanthine compound in the same family of caffeine, and theophylline.

The good news is that it takes, on average, a fairly large amount of theobromine -- 100-150 mg/kg -- to cause a toxic reaction. Although there are variables to consider like the individual sensitivity, animal size and chocolate concentration.

    On average,
Milk chocolate contains 44 mg of theobromine per oz.
    Semisweet chocolate contains 150mg/oz.
    Baker's chocolate 390mg/oz.

Using a dose of 100 mg/kg as the toxic dose it comes out roughly as:
1 ounce per 1 pound of body weight for Milk chocolate
1 ounce per 3 pounds of body weight for Semisweet chocolate
1 ounce per 9 pounds of body weight for Baker's chocolate.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Pugs have a big dog attitude. Cool for small guys but I can't take the snoring. They have an operation to reduce it. I like Boston Terriers for small dogs and Jack Russels.
