Paint Ideas...

Yep... so Im contemplating stuff for the next week (if not immediate future)

Of course, stick to the basics...

WHite trim, white ceiling - yada yada yada...

Im thinking about a yellowish, brown - kind of a dark tan color... very warm for the side walls...

And a darker grey... similar to Toyota's Flint Mica color or w/e - and yes, I just thought about painting my walls a color of a car...

But seriously, a darker grey for the front and back walls with a warm tan looking color... I would show pics of samples - but every paint thingy Ive seen so far is jasc and java and I dont feel like taking screenshots...

But anyways... furniture will be black, oak, and walnut - any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks...

even if you did post samples, the colors would be off as every monitor, video card, and users have different settings. Mine is pretty close to life like. I used a couple of programs to calibrate it, one was an adobe program, and I don't remember the other.

    Ok....

    So...

I got some samples from HD - just general colors, not more so the paint...

But I think I want something like this - not 100% sure, I kind of like... the top row, left and middle samples - like I said though, not 100% how these colors go together or w/e...

    Just getting opinions and suggestions...

Those color tones are very similar to what we painted our HT room. It should sound better with the greenish color as the accent color.:D
I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D

top row middle gets my vote out of the selections. I'd go a tad greener personally. It's a relaxing color.

Whats the difference between eggshell and satin?

Whats the price of Behr eggshell and satin? and the 75 primer?

    Thanks...

I think about a dollar or so, for eggshell or satin.

if the trim paint doesn't lay down well, use an additive like floetrol. if you're going to use behr, i'd just buy the floetrol rather than make another trip later.

satin sheen reflects more light than eggshell. eggshell won't highlight defects as easily, but also won't clean as easily.

for the time spent painting and prepping the room and how long the paint will last, i don't think the few bucks should even be a part of the consideration. this paint is going to stare you in the face every day for a long time, things like whether you need to hide defects, how well or if you're going to fix and prime them, if you want more light reflected back into the room, how well it cleans and stuff like that should be much more important.
