Ok. it's black Friday.. and i'd much rather spend the day like I did instead of fighting the insane shop-a-holics.

So here are some pics.. I spent a few hours cleaning up this old Pioneer SX-1000TW receiver i got just today. It's purrty!

Wood case is in excellent shape as well. It's freakin' heavy. about 30lbs. of pure vintage Pioneer. Can drive 4 to 16ohm speakers.. two pairs.

Someone mentioned that they thought this was circa 1972-73' if that's correct, makes it about 33+ years young. ;) narry a scratch, no gouges, no rust, and now no mo dust.:p

I still got to open her up and look under the hood. I'll do that this weekend. I know it's very dusty inside too. and I'll DeOxit as well. She fires up and has sound.. no buzz at all. Very happy with this yard sale find. :D

it doesnt' say it's a quad unit.. but it does have on the back an adjustment for front to back level adjustment. if you connect two pairs of speakers.

    yeah. crazy me. :p

not a great find.. but still.. it's in pretty decent shape considering how old it is.. the metal case looks brand new. If you put a new unit next to this one.. on case alone. i doubt you could tell the diff. :D

Nice piece of vintage. I have one just like it that I bought my senior year in HS. (73) . Had it hooked to a BIC turntable with Utah speakers. Those were the days. Just a quick tip when cleaning it. Be VERY careful cleaning the dial glass because the painted lettering and numbers are fragile. My W in the TW came right off. Don't want to have to guess where the dial is tuning.
