You only have 285 posts and have 77 threads:eek:. Like I said, I'm not trying to be mean, but just try to do a search every once in a while:) . And the only way you are going to know the real difference between these speakers is if you listen to them yourself...AVR: H/K AVR240
Fronts: Monitor 50s
Center: CSI3
surrounds: R15s
Sub:Velodyne DPS10
Dvd/Cd: Samsung HD upconverter (for now)

they sound much better receiver wise it all depends on your budget. but and your ears but most reccomend denon hk but the usual advice what ever you do get make sure you have pre-out and what ever you do get something like...at least for the time...........Chicomorales:)

I was wondering if I should get monitor 40's or tsi200 or RTi4. I am looking for them as rear surround speakers. I am kinda budget in mind but will pay more for a much better speaker. I see on new egg you can get monitor 40's for 129.99. The tsi200 I can't find under 300. Is it worth over double the price?Rti10's - Front Speakers
Csi3 - mid Front Speaker
PSW10 - Sub
Pioneer 5 channel receiver

You should really start a new thread on this. It would bring you more and better responses...plus this thread is dead.
For rears it won't make much of a difference. But since you already have RTI-8s and a compatible center I'd stay in the RTI SERIES

thanks, I don't think I can't start a new thread because I need 10 posts or something like that. And, for the most part i'm a 22 year college kid who buys speakers, I don't feel like i'm expert enough to give advice out to peopleRti10's - Front Speakers

You should be able to start a new thread regardless of post count. Either way don't sweat being new, we all had to learn when we first got here. Stick around and soak everything up, I was a moron when I joined this forum and I have learned so much since then. I may not always give the best advice, but it doesn't stop me from trying, lol.

To the OP, I have heard both 50s and 60s side by side. The 50s sound almost exactly like the 40s but, the 60s have much more bottom end.Things are more like they are now than they ever will be!

Was it a level-matched blind listening test? Your impression jives with the specs (same -3db response for 40s and 50s, another 9hz lower for 60s) but I'm wondering if the 60s ever-so-slightly better sensitivity makes them a bit louder with the same input. -
If the 60s are in fact 1 dB more sensitive, I doubt you would notice. Yes, the speakers were side by side in the same room and hooked up to the same reciever. I just kept hitting the A/B button. I have read maybe hundreds of opinions on this subject. I think they all sound great. The Monitor 30 through the 70. It all just depends on what you want it to do. With all the sales going on, I do think I will buy a pair of each one!Things are more like they are now than they ever will be!

Those Monitors on sale seem to be the best bang for the buck speakers right now. Good performance for a low price. I'm listening to the Monitor 70's right now. Great speakers.
I couldn't agree more. I have had my 70's for about a year and a half now and they have yet to dissapoint. I had a set of Monitor 40's as my surrounds until I got a pair of TSi 500's, and they sounded great back there.
