MW's How many Ohms what frequency crossover?

I am rebuilding my crossovers and i have the mw6502 woofers(4 of them seriers+parallel). dcr says 4ohms, but I know better than to trust that. I have the sl2500 tweeters, and i was thinking of upgrading to the silk domes that have been recomended in the forms. next project is the monitor 10s with 6500's in them. how many ohms are those? My Polk RTA 15L Towers are also having problems. when elton john or billy joel are playing the piano some chords sound awful, but jazz sounds almost perfect. sl3000 tweets. Any help would be great.

I know of the silk replacements for the 2000s and 3000s but not for the 2500s. Anyone?

Monitor 10s and 10Bs are 6 ohms. The Series 2 are compatable with 8 ohms.

I am building some custom cabinets, and using 6500's in one, and 6502's in the other. I read th specs on the monitor 10's and they are rated at 8ohms. Thanks for the link. I checked out they wiring, and it confirmed what i knew. They are wired parallel. That would give a 4ohm load on the woofers. Contradicting polks 8ohm overall load on the monitor 10's? Nowhere could I find the crossover point on any speaker that uses the sl2500 tweeters. The end result of what I am atempting to build is an 8 6.5" driver dual tweeter main, and a 6 driver single or dual surround for fill. I do have adcom amps that can handle the low ohms. Has anyone had expirience driving 2ohm loads with the gfa-555? thanks again. PS I used to listen to hard rock, but I just fell in love with the full sound of jazz, and soft rock that my 2 pairs of custom 4 6.5" driver speakers provide. I can't even stand to listen to my yamaha htr-5860 any more! No more sub the dual 10" pr's provide exceptional tight bass that my infinity interlude 500watt sub just can't replacate. Sorry I am rambling on I just like a kid at Christmas who just got a Red Rider lever action bb gun with the compass built into the stock!

An ohm rating for a speaker is more of an average draw than anything. The older of the Monitor 10s utilized first the 1000 and then the 2000 tweets. They are rated at 6 ohms. The later ones (the series2 which were the only 10s that used the 2500 tweet) were simply stated to be "compatible" with 8 ohm settings on amps.

The schematic showing the Mon 10 with the 2500 is the one labeled m10s_rev2.

Does anyone know at what frequency are the speakers crossed over at? IE 1800 2000 2500 3000 3500? Thanks Ben
