I just heard on ESPN that the ACC "Championship" game in two weeks still needs to sell 13,000 seats. I'd bet good money that would never happen in the SEC.

Should one need more proof, look at the matchups. ACC championship features one top 15 team and possibly a team not in the top 25. SEC features two top 5 teams. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankingsindex

Don't worry, any game the Hogs are in will sell out. Hog fans will travel clear across the nation to support their team. They always sell every ticket that the home team will allow them to have and if the home team doesn't sell all of theirs, the Hog fans will buy their leftovers, too.

I know I'm "pot" fingering "kettle" here, but the ACC is a basketball conference (regardless of Miami and Virginia Tech...)

Basketball on the other hand...the ACC RULES! The Terps are 6-0, but Duke just dropped their first game of the season last night. I'm not heartbroken at all over that!

Nope. But in the South, ACC fans think they they have a valid argument. SEC is day in, day out, the best football conference in the country. In my 'humble" opinion...

I would think in the South they would think just the opposite....

It's usually up north that the pencil pushers and stat trackers start to delude themselves into thinking the ACC can go toe to toe with the SEC.

Yea, but the ACC has traditionally been a Southern Conference until the addition of Bawston College. In fact, the ACC in football is only a little better than the actual Southern Conference. Miami and Florida State have proven that they've been over-ranked for years. Wake, Maryland, and Georgia Tech get stomped in the SEC. Sorry ZombieTechboy...I love Calvin, but they aren't up to the task.

When it comes down to it, when all sports are used to decide the best sports conference...there's no doubt that the SEC is, by far, the ELITE sports comferemce.

There will be a great football game this weekend The University of Notre Dame and that other little school. Get it its the the thing people voted as most thankful for this holiday, no initial schools, you know why they have to use initials??? If you dont then I know where you went to school.

When is Notre Dame gonna "man up" and join a conference. Play a championship game, etc? Even as good as Ohio State is, they don't have to lay it on the line at season's end like the SEC, Big 12, and the little old ACC. I understand Notre Dame doesn't want to join a conference due to money considerations, but it would make things a bit tougher. Sorry, but they aren't as good as their ranking. That Michigan State "win" was a farce. State threw that one. Lest I forget to mention it, Notre Dame is way better than the Gamecocks. As if I needed to say that....

I ain't a fan, but one thing I've never been able to pin on Notre Dame is a soft schedule. TV execs don't take too kindly to the likes of North Dakota PolyTech U.

I'd take an ACC championship game anyday of the week over an annual USC slugfest.

Zombie, I didn't say Notre Dame was soft. I'm just saying playing a major conference championship game is a major hurdle to a National Title. The loser of the Ark/Florida game is out of the hunt. Ohio State, N. Dame and the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA don't have to jump that hurdle.

I'd say laying it on the line against Michigan (easily the 2nd best team in the country) last weekend was plenty tough. They have to do it every year on the last game of the season.

I would KILL to have Ohio State play Notre Dame in the National Championship. ND would get destroyed, worse than they did last year against OSU.
