Both of the companies and their products impress me but hmmm i'm not sure which one to go with for my 2channel setup just go with the cheaper?? or lean more to the nad since i'll prob get the c521bee (or its upgrade) cdp. I'll prob be running these with rti6 and a pair of Paradigm monitor3 or 5's (if i can afford) later for my pleasure lol

So any opinion or ideas??? Is it better to simply go with an integrated amp C325bee eg. but i also need a tuner???Chicomorales:)

I have both Cambridge Audio CDP and DVD, and the NAD C720BEE/C521BEE. I have listened to the CA 540R and it has the typical CA smooth sound quality. With that said, my preference would be for the NAD receiver. I have been very impressed with my C720BEE. Very good sound quality, although a little more analytical than the CA sound. Loads of reserve power, and probably more versitile when it comes to speaker selection. I am currently using the NAD with Paradigm Studio Reference 20v3 monitors and the system sounds fantastic. The tuner is also pretty good.DKG999

Hmm intresting DKG i would love to get my hands on the studios but the 20's are like 900 bucks i'm prob going with the monitor 3's seem impressive and the rti6's i guess the cambridge has sweeter looks but its about the sound right. The CA540R has more rated power than the Nad i thought though or are you checking dynamic power???Chicomorales:)

whats the price on the 89 they have way to many models on their site and they seem pretty close feature wise lolChicomorales:)

guess the ca540R is not so popular huh?? would the HK3480 be a better choice??? not sure about the sound quality though is it better than the CA?Chicomorales:)

I like the 540R as well, if you are looking for good sound quality, with only the needed features.
U.S. pricing for the 89 is $359 and the 540R is $699 from most retailers.Tschüss

Well i'm looking for a stereo receiver ideally thats what i was looking at Nad720bee or the HK3480 but the cambridge caught my attention i like simplicity no need for all the frills but for ht i would prob get a denon oh don't think i can afford 700 right now for thatChicomorales:)

Power wise, I would put the NAD right there with the CA, the NAD has lots of dynamic reserve power. I use the NAD C720BEE to test a lot of speakers and I haven't found it lacking in power. The soft-clipping feature will help keep you out of trouble if you like your music loud. I would check with Saturday Audio in downtown Chicago on price, I paid a little less than $500 for my C720BEE. I don't know if they will ship outside of the US or not. I think Audio Advisor is also now carrying NAD. The CA DVD and CDP players are good. I own the 640C v1 CDP and the 540D DVD player. Both are great!DKG999
