how does one determine a ports hz?

im purchased a well made hdf ported enclosure but my problem is matching a sub to it companies want to know whats the port tuned too? how does one know. This is the only info i have on the box.

    this box is tuned to 38Hz. you just have to do some looking around on the web to find the full specs on the box. I just searched the model number, found a link to the manufacturers website and it came up with a spec sheet and it had it right there in front of me.

    thanks, Tahoe now i can make a choice in subs do you know of any subs that meet this enclosures requirement. Looking for a sub around 300 rms !:D

    honestly, i dont know how to match a sub to a box. you might want to send a message to exalted512 or macleod

    you could just change the port lenth and size to tune the box whatever hz range you are looking for.

    itd be hard to extend the port though.

    Really, you can put almost any sub in almost any enclosure. The trick is how you power it.

    That being said, if you want to match a sub to go to your box, look up the volume of the box then look up the volume recommendations for various subs and pick the ones that closest match.

    If the box is a little too big, you want to put a little less RMS power to the sub. If its a little small, you can put a little more power to the sub.

    exhalted, not to look totally stupid, but i didn't notice his link. i wouldn't have even suggested changing the port. :)
