well, yes ugly. Afterall, the real power of the net is the sharing of info.
Many here know I have been a supporter of the MIT cabling systems. I have been using these products for several years, working my way from the Terminator series to the Shotgun series and thinking about Oracle.
This is a tale of an interconnect, a Shotgun-3 pair to be exact. I purchased these cables from Joe Abrams an auth. dealer, off the Gon, new set good price. It was March. Well, Sept.15 the Shed magic sound disappeared, I was WTF??? Ah, a source cable was losing connection the channel cutting out, I could get it to come back on for a few seconds then it would cut out again. I put a different cable in place and everything was fine, the rig played perfectly. I contacted Joe the dealer, he offered to handle it, but said I could just send them straight back to MIT. So I told him I would and plunked down the postage and insurance, 18.45 to be exact and they were off to MIT.
To make a very long story of unanswered phone calls and e-mails and unfullfilled promises (1st promised return was Oct. 6 then the 13th and so on), it ended up taking the MIT factory folks 46 days to get the cables back to me, then simply saying they could find no problem with them, to try them again and then call them. Now my last two e-mails trying to find the cables went unanswered, my last phone call unanswered. The chance of me calling again was slim and none, with slim already having left town. Well, that's the Bad and Ugly of this story.
The Good, well, finally being fed up I contacted Joe Abrams (Equus/Portal audio) and explained the problem the date was Oct. 30., he immediately sent me a new set of cables to keep, they arrived Fedex Nov 2, he simply asked I send the other set of cables to him once MIT finally got them to me, well I got those cables on Nov. 6 and sent them straight on to Joe.
Mr. Abrams is to be commended for taking care of business, better yet, doing more than that, I certainly would have understood if he had wanted to send me a set after I sent them to him first or he could of even said, if the factory told you that well then...........
I still like the product, though MIT they need to tighten up. I understand a product can break down, heck, even Rolls Royce gets some of that. There are many companies making quality products for signal transmission. I am considering some of them.

Joe is first class guy, all the way.
Are you thinking of checking out Paladin amp while talking to him?I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -
There's no excuse for that kind of service from MIT. However, Joe is tops in my book.Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."

Joe is #1. I don't want to explain but lets just say Joe gave up a very good sale just to keep me rolling. He has future business from me for life.

Not suprised, I think emails sent to MIT go in their delete bucket.
