Onecall.com has the Denon 2910 and 3910 players on sale at $450 and $725, respectively. Their website shows the the players at $700 and $1500. But you can call them to get the sale prices.

How'd you find this out?

After seeing the 2910 mentioned on the techbargains site, I tried to get it from onecall website. However, I could not complete the order because there was some problems with their website. So I called them up to complete my order. The saleperson confirmed the sale price. I was curious and asked if the 3910 is also on sale as well. He told me that the price is $725 for the 3910. Do you think the 3910 worth the extra $275?

I'm on the phone with them right now and the agent said that he could do the $450 on teh 2910 but is checking on the 3910 as we speak.
I'm also a bit curious what the differences are between the 10 vs 30ci series. He said that the CI = custom install, but it reads on Denon's site that there are different chips being used in the processing........all for the same price. That seems kinda weird to me personally.......
EDIT: The price that they're selling these for is in fact the $450 and $725 SHIPPED (tax only in WV, ID, and WA). They are A stock and not refurbed units at all. The new 30ci lines are not included in this pricing structure as this is 'affiliate pricing' (basically matching somewhere on a bizrate type of site).
This pricing is in place for only "a few days" so if you have any intention on upgrading to this stuff, get a move on.comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -

IMO, Yes. The selectable Bass Management in the 3910 is worth $275. Recent sales of used Outlaw Audio ICMB's which do essentially the same thing have been going for about $300 on audiogon.Proud SOPA Member since 2005! -
What is the true sucessor of the 2900? The 2910 or the 3910?

I think it's the 3910, but i don't think you can lose with either onecomment comment comment comment. bitchy.

The new chips are a step up from the Faroudja chips that have macroblocking issues.
The 2930ci and 3930ci have more in common with the 5910ci than the 2910 and 3910, respectively. They have Silicon Optix HQV series chips. I think the 3930 has the Realta like the 5910 and the 2930 has a less updateable version whose name escapes me.
I think the CI allows keyboard hook-up and other things to enhance a, well, custom installation.

I just purchased a refurb of this unit from ecost for 340 on Nov7.
Was pricing this unit for a week.
When I checked Crutchfield on tuesday they had it at 699.:(
I would have gladly paid the extra 110 for brand new unit from a reputable seller such as Crutchfield.
