Some were lucky enough to pick up Gears of War yesterday but as of today it should be available in your local game store or big box store. So who is going to pick it up? I know I am!

Had it since noon on Tuesday, one of the best games I have played in a long time. The creatures are cool as hell, lot's of blood, story line is real good, and the levels are just grueling. Very long and very difficult on just the casual setting.

I like it...problem is I'm trying to juggle GOW, FFXII, and Shadow of the Colossus (spelling?). Not enough time in the day.

    Just do it.
I did it with GameCube and Resident Evil 4 but that is $160 vs $500. Thats a chunk of change. No brainer if my PS3 was not around the corner.

Just beat the game this evening. The single player mode is only about 7-10 hours but it was one of the best gaming experiences I have had in a long time. Also co-op is unbelievably fun when you go through the levels with a friend. You have probably heard it before but the graphics are absolutely jaw dropping. I couldn't believe my eyes. The gameplay is always running at a constant framerate with maybe only a dip here and there throughout the entire game. Everyone that owns a 360 owes it to themselves to pick up this game, I really cannot stress this enough. Also I would go as far as saying that it justifies buying the console as well.

    Okay, here's my take...

I bought it after hearing how great it was. It's a good game, but great? I don't know, Splinter Cell D.A. was better, IMO. The only difference this game has to others is in the controls, and the use of tactical firing, which to some extent were already in all of the Tom Clancy games.

Graphics, Controls, and story are all really good, and it's a worthy buy. I'm just not sure it lives up to it's billing as being some revolutionary game for the console.

We picked up Gears of War Tuesday from Gamestop, and the graphics are indeed top notch.
My one son is ranked 1500 or so (out of 30,000) so they've been playing the snot out of it. Guess that says something about the game play.

Picked up Call of Duty yesterday, and they loaded it for a quick look-see (during GOW game breaks).
IMO, this game is an absolute must buy. Not just the graphics, but the realistic actions of the combatants is something else !! Shoot an enemy in the leg, and he'll be getting back up to bite you. Surround a house filled with Germans and after your squad enters, the rules of combat go out the window, the "panic" of everyone involved can be seen as everyone shifts into a "panic" mode, and it turns into a "spray and pray" encounter. That description doesn't come close to describing the actual play, I wish I could do it justice.
COD kicks ****, takes names, than kicks **** again !!!

Thankfully, God of War release has been pushed back to March.
