Early 90's vintage. 2-way, front ported design. 6.5 inch midwoof, 1 inch metal dome. Binding posts on the bottom behind the risers, clean look. Time aligned American made goodness. Solid down the mid 40's, no top end fatigue whatsoever. Midrange is on the laid back side of neutral.

Woofers have been completely rebuilt (reconed) by Thiel - rubber surrounds, poly cone. I have the receipt. New grille cloth. Wood floor and carpet spikes included. Outstanding condition - GREAT 2ch speakers - they image like a ****.

$old - Andy.

Pics to follow.....

These are very good speakers from a highly respected company. Someone should jump on these.

They do image like a sumbitch. If I didn't already have some CS 2.1's I'd be on these like stink on ****...

I'd take them in a hearbeat, allways wanted to get ears on some Theils. they run FAR more money around me when I eyebal them on Audiogon. that price seems near silly.

    Is that a good thing?

So, when I'm playing golf and someone tells me "you swing like a ****," I should say "thank you"

These would be fun to play with for a while, but I'd have to find a home for my Monitor 7Bs. . . and I'm not sure I want to sell those quite yet.

I should really keep my eye on the prize (work hard, hit my bonus, and get some Lsi15s) instead of responding to every FS posting in my area. This is becoming a sickness, but I'm down with the sickness.

You shouldn't ever sell 7's. Every good Polkie should have a pair tucked away in a closet at the least.

Come get these Thiels and pickup some more FREE Kimber cable.

Tempting, I'll think about it. In the meantime, if anyone else wants these, jump in and grab them.

BTW, the other kimber kable I snagged was more like 10 ft, and ended up being long enough for me to cut in half, strip, naner, and hook up to the 7's. . . so a good $20 impulse buy :)

Last and only bump $300 takes them home with a pair of 6ft Kimber 4PR speaker cable.

Andy, cool - I just rough guessed on it.

    *whimper*

    Why didn't anyone grab these?

All this AWESOME gear languishing away in the Flea Market. First ohskigod's Bozak/Sophia combo and now Thiel CS1.2's for nothing comparativly. If only Texas wasn't a 20+ hour drive!

I have to stop by Russ's to pick up some cables. . . so, if they look and sound good enough, maybe I can find a home for them.

Hopefully, someone else will buy them so I don't have to. . . too much gear, not enough room or time to appreciate it all.

Russ, just for kicks, do you have any specs on these thiels (frequency range, impedence, footprint size and overall dimensions).

I may bring a bigger vehicle when I come pick up the cables just in case I get talked into these. But, I'm not sure my B&K St-202 can handle a low sensitivity 4-ohm load. . . I think it's 200 wpc into 4 ohm, not too bad, but not a powerhouse.

They are 8ohm speakers, the B&K will handle them just fine, 3ft H, 10.5in W, 11in D. They are solid down into the mid to low 40's.

    Cheers,
    Russ

    $OLD. . . to me. . .

Bought these yesterday. Look and sound great. So good that my Monitor 7B's have been displaced after only a few months.

Thanks. Already like them from what I heard last night. Need a better source than my iPod, though.

For those of you who wanted these but were too far away, there are some on Audiogon for a good price (Boston area), and some on ebay near centerville, OH that I saw while doing post-purchase research.

Someone else get a pair so I can ask annoying questions about them!
