Internal Polarity for SDA CRS

I have a pair of Polk SDA CRS with the twin SL-2000 silver coil dome tweeters...Anybody know the internal polarity for the stereo drivers and the SDA Drivers in the respective right/left speakers,(blue=hot, White=ground) I have recently tried some dayton 6.5 mid-bass drivers in these as all the MW 6503 drivers are shot. The speakers are very dynamic, but shrill at times, could this be the dayton drivers lacking where the original polk drivers dont? $48.00 per driver seems steep considering the build quality.
thanks

    Welcome to the club.

#1 - The crossovers are designed for the drivers Polk put in there. Chances are the Dayton's aren't really a good match. IMHO you should get them from Polk, as they have THE replacement.

#2 - The drivers are different for the normal and SDA circuits. I would bet you bought four of the same drivers...

#3 - The SL2000 tweeter are bright by nature. It's inherent in the design material. There are substitutions available from Polk that tame that considerably.

SDA_MAN, i'd start with replacing the Sl2000 tweeters. it's worth it. You may not notice any sound difference, but your ears will thank you.. it helps kill the shrill the SL2000 silver dome's suffer from.

I'd also get the correct mid bass drivers from Polk or find some on Ebay. the CRS's, are a favorite of alot of SDA lovers around here. IF they are in good condition or better. they are worth doing the driver replacements.

Do you have the SDA umbillical cable that runs between both speakers?

Welcome to the Club Polk Forums SDA Man!

The CRS's have the same SDA and stereo drivers, MW 6503. I'm not sure of the internal polarity. I would also recommend as some others have suggested that you replace the SL2000 tweeters with the RD-0194's. Polk also has replacement drivers that are designed for your cabinets. Good luck!

I second that. The RDO-194's make a huge difference.
