deal is today only for a refurbished marantz sr8400 on second act's website. here is a link. im sure a few of you will probably purchase this. normally it is 499 for the refurbished one i believe and that alone is a great price.

As an owner of a 8400, I will say that the receiver sounds pretty darn good....but be forewarned that it is rather deep. Copper chassis and toroid TF are pretty impressive. Sound quality is excellent for music. For HT, it is definately not as flexible as some other receivers out there...System 1: Martin Logan Vantage, Rotel RC 1070, B&K Reference 200.2, Music Hall DAC 15.2, Yamaha 2300
System 2: LSi15 w/db840, Marantz SR8400, Rotel 1080, RM6800 (C&S), Sony X2020ES

Second Act rocks. I've purchased 3 TVs from them, including my current 1080p. Mark Redetzke and the rest of the team are all great at getting back to you promptly, and they provide great customer service. You gotta love their deal of the day's.
