F.E.A.R and NFS: Carbon

First off I have to say that FEAR is one of the most creepiest, yet enjoyable games I have played in a very long time. It has just enough creep factor to keep you on your toes, but more than enough blood and guts to keep you going.
The Weapons are your usual fare, some dual weilding..blah..blah. But there are some stick grenades, and some wistling pete's, the kind of grenades that you set and they jump in the air when the enemy walks by. Cool as hell. Also shoot a guy in the leg and watch him limp around...lol...to funny. and you kill a guy too close to you his finger may hold onto the trigger as he is falling dead...spraying you with bullets...very nice touch.
This is one of the best Xbox titles out there right now. Well for a week at least. (Gears of War) Live is great, it is very UnReal like. Small maps lots of chaos.
NFS:Carbon has gone back to its roots and plays more like NFS:Underground than Most Wanted. The cars are the same basically but tricking them outm is fun. Of coarse the story line is cheesy as all get out, but thats what is so fun about it. The story line is good, and there are some laugh out loud moments.
FEAR- Recommended
NFSCarbon: if you like the series get it, otherwise you may be better of renting it.

I wish I wouldn't have played F.E.A.R. for PC, but I did, and decimated the game. I don't think I would get any enjoyment out of it for the 360.
NFSC is looking really weak based on all the videos I have seen. It just seems like one of those games I would play for a day, and then it'll just sit there collecting dust. It's too bad Gran Turismo likely won't ever come out for XBox 360. That's the best in depth racing franchise to date. -
FEAR is decidedly awesome. Its fast, fun. Has nice weapons. The multiplayer is good enough. The ambience and sound is great to boot.

Doro sent me his copy of F.E.A.R. after he got done with it, going to load it up this weekend - I just hope the VAIO can handle it.....Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

My Athlon XP 2800 and ATi 9800XT couldn't handle it.

Then I'm basically screwed - we'll see.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -
Russ, you need to get a 360. I'm certain it would be pretty special to hear you talk smack online taunting people with your 'cheers' and 'I'm gonna make you **** your flat hat.'

Seconded.
Speaking of which, when are we all going to get in on a game of something? Haven't played on Live with you guys since GRAW. -

That's interesting... I played through it with my Athy XP 2200+, 1gb RAM, and Nvidia 6600GTLudicrous gibs! -
Demi, recently I've been doing Half Life, Half Life 2, Day of Defeat etc etc....
I'd love to hit a few of your guys in the face with a gernade.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -

Yeah, but you need a 360 once you're done. *nod* -
Yeah while Russ is trying to throw his grenade...we'll be t-bagging his ****!!

Fear is by far one of the scariest games I've played. I agree tho, it is a resource hog. I found NFS Carbon to be rather buggy compared to its other titles.

So I picked up FEAR again last night to play some more of the single player campaign. I'm about 67% done and my only gripe is that there is so much damned time spent looking for the one small hard to see door to move onto the next area. Not nearly enough people to shoot. Way too much time wandering around. Hopefully this got fixed in the sequel.
On another note, this game has an insane amount of ambient bass the whole time. Its pretty rad. -

Hmm, I never once had that problem. I was just playing it yesterday and thinking to myself, man, this is so straight forward, I loved it. I always felt it lead you without ever letting giving you the feeling you weren't exploring. Maybe it's the 360 version that's wacked
