i just bought those speakers at circuit city and had them installed.. listen to this...i had my stock speakers in my civic and on my sony head unit i had my lows turned up to like 6 my mids at like 8 and my highs at like 10 and it sounded good but i couldn't turn it up past like 23 now i get these things in 100watts rms each so i figure i should be able to turn it up all the way and everything will be fine but no....if i want to turn it up to the full 34 i have my lows at -10 mids at 1 and highs at -10 otherwise the rear speakers can't take the bass and the highs in front kill my ears....i kno that can be fixed with subs tho im working on that....but now even when its all the way up it was louder with my stock spaekrs since i hafta turn the lows/mids/highs down....how can i fix this...get a crossover for the rear db6500's? and then subs???

post this in the car audio section, down at the bottom of the forum list. You'll get more responses there. This section is for home audio.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say maybe you are overtaxing your amp?

Add a 4 channel amp and your upgrade is complete. Unless you want great bass then another amp and sub is the ticket.

im not a car expert but i remember about 5 years ago when i was a noob i thought i could get better sound by buying some new speakers for my jetta and i did, the sound ended up being super bright due to the coaxial speakers that were of shitt quality (jvc) and it couldnt go any louder because the head unit didnt have enough juice. if you want to get a better sounding car system forget the sub, those sound like trash just get component speakers (ive heard mb quartz is nice?) and get an external amp to drive all the speakers then you can make your ears bleed if you like :)

i'd ask the people in the car audio section of this forum like Nadams mentioned. we're mostly home audio people.. two very different beasts.

    good luck
