Yep, my wife thinks I'm crazy. But by 5:30 p.m. this evening, I completed an 86.5 hour workweek at Canadian Tire (a car repair chain for you Americans). It's been real busy with the seasonal rush for tires and winter car preparations. There was constant non-stop flow of customers all day everyday and the phone incessantly ringing.
Oh well, I'll be back at it tomorrow.....haven't had a day off in over 2 weeks.

I thought you owned your own company.

I do own Para-Ski Inc. But the powered parachute industry is in a major slump. I've been selling powered parachutes for about 10 years now but never left CTC and am doing both at the same time.
The last sale I made were the 3 machines to China which gave me the opportunity to go there. I will continue doing both CTC and Para-Ski. I have an arrangement with CTC that allows me to leave anytime and go deliver a machine to a customer anywhere and still have the job when I get back.
Of course if there were more powered parachute sales I'd be working less at CTC.
I don't mind doing lots of hours, it's so busy at the shop that I don't even see the day go by, and oddly enough I've got as much energy at the end of the day as I do at the beginning of the day.

How old are you? You better watch the burnout!!! Sounds like you are working towards more SAE equipment.
Get some rest you are making me tired!!! -
You are doing the work of two people...you will be worn out long before your time if you keep this up...Hopefully the pace slows a little for you.

Just be careful, Joe, that the wife doesn't become the EX-wife, or else you'll be doing that every week.Sal Palooza

I'm 48, don't smoke, and drink socially. Thank you for your concern guys. I've got a great wife. We just watched "Inside Man" together, and now I'm gonna listen to some music for another hour and then hit the sack.

Are you getting nailed with taxes? When I was paid by the hour, an eighty hour week was not much more than a 60 hour week (take home pay)...just got taxed more but you got most of it back in your income tax return.

The more you make the more (uncle Sam) will take. There comes a point where all those hours you work and the money you make is not worth it. Your hourly wage will start to drop as you work more hours.Yep, my wife thinks I'm crazy.If...

Canadian Tire ?
Was traveling through Canada once, had a rear tire that must have picked up a nail and kept going flat.
Pulled into a tire shop, explained the situation, and asked for the "Kanuck Special".
This is what I got:
I guess it must have been metric. I have to admit, it did handle well in the snow.

That's a helluva week. My personal record is 102 hours in one week. Two nights I just showered and slept in the refinery I was working at the time.
I'll never forget that Sunday morning (it was going to be my fourth double that week). I went out to a roach coach to get some breakfast. I was about 5 minutes late getting back. Well this redneck a$$hole from Texas pulled up as I was walking back in. He says "I don't know about y'all, but we s'posed to git here by 7."
To which I sweetly reply "Get here by 7? Why don't you go f#ck yourself jerk off, I was here by 7. Seven o'clock yesterday morning. I never left." And I calmly walked off to enjoy my breakfast. You should have seen the look on his face. Priceless...
Be rest assured I will NEVER do that **** again.
I made a lot of money that week. Fixed $50. daddy... -

I didn't know Uncle Sam could reach over the border for taxes.
Wouldn't we have to start a war or something for that?:D -

My records are 98 hours a week for 4 weeks straight and 37 hours in one day. Everyone should do time like this at least once. Oh, and the 37 hour day, a co-worker started me off on the first evening with a bottle of rum. Man was I hurtin the next day, and the next... Hour number 38 was spent sleeping in a chair, that was my limit. Do it, but dont do it too long.

She's not the only one.
I hear ya Ron. I work for a fortune 500 company and they love threating the employees with over time. If you modeled a business with the over time we work, you would simply fail the class. It works great with a sweatshop company. Any thing over ten hours on a bi - weekly and i lose money at my current tax braket.
No work tax in Canada! Great place to be a **** star.:) -

Or never in their life.
It's way too short to spend any exorbitant amount of it working. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
True, but if it gets you somewhere you want to be quickly it's worth a month or two of it...

Madmax and Amulford....nice records! (hmm, strange to say that isn't it?). I couldn't reach those records even if I wanted to, the store just isn't open that many hours.Amplifiers: 1-SAE Mark IV, 4-SAE 2400, 1-SAE 2500, 2-SAE 2600, 1-Buttkicker BKA 1000N w/2-tactile transducers. I won't do it again. I still work 84 hour weeks for weeks on end on a regular basis, though. Part of the trade... Gotta get it while the gettin's good...
It makes for no life, though. The only saving grace is that when I'm done, I have some time off and alot of money for her to spend... -
Yea, I won't do it again either unless it involves audio gear in some way.

An impressive amount of work, but take care of yourself. We just moved our corporate office (about 500 people, and 170+ servers), and I put in about 260+ hours in September, and not much less in October. I've had an ear infection and a 2 week flu in October, so 2 rounds of antibiotics in less than a month. It felt good to put in my fair share, and then some, but my health took a beating that I won't soon forget.
And yes, I'm salaried. -
My highest was 85 hours/ week for 6 weeks for an FDA submission. Unfortunately, I'm not hourly, so my company didn't have to give me anything extra- However, they always kick us back a huge bonus check after those crazy projects. 'course after I saw that they billed the client my entire yearly salary, plus overhead, plus fringe on those 6 weeks of work, I was a little bitter.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

Okay, I'm still not seeing how you can put in 37 hours in one day. . . am I missing something here?
I put in about 37 hours a week these days, but back when I was hourly, I would squeeze in as many as possible.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand
