Surround Speaker Placement
Hi,
I have 2 TC60i in-ceiling speaker installed as my surround sound. The right speaker was installed 26 inches while the left speaker was installed 28.5 inches away from the wall. When I do my calibration at 75dB, my surround right speaker comes out at +5db while the surround left speaker is at +3db.
My FL/FR/CC speaker are all calibrated at 75dB too with +2dB for each channel.
The width of the family room is 17ft. Now, I am thinking of moving the SR/SL speaker but can't decide how far should I move it from the wall. My goal is to have all 5 speakers calibrated at +2dB or as long as 5 speaker have the same dB for each channel. Also, I don't feel/hear the surround much coz it's a bit far from the listening position.
If I move my speaker, I need to cut a hole again, is this justifiable? or I'll just increase the dB for SR/SL channel to make it louder. Will the surround sound better if I move it?
Appreciate any advise.

recutting holes? why bother dude,
nothing wrong with having different speakers at different DB settings. heck, for some reason, I have to keep my right front channel speaker 1db hotter than the left. makes no sence, tried swapping amps, speakers, and the same thing. I just chalk it up to a wierd room issue, but when I run the right channel a decibel hotter, it makes it balanced, so that is the way it will stay.
swap positions if the overall positioning/sound sucks, not just to get them running at the same level from he reciever/preamp.

Appreciate the response.
Just to add, another reason why I want to move it is, my thought I'm not getting the most of the surround sound. Since the position of the speaker is a too far with each other compare to the size of the room, by the time the sound comes to the listening position, it's lost the image of sound.
Hopefully I'm making sense here :-). Thanks again.
