Any one know what might be causing this?

last night I notice my TV (Sony KF-60WE610) was dimming for a few minutes then brighting back up, I thought it might be the outlet but I've had the TV plugged in to the same outlet and surge protector (Monster Power HTS1000) for the last 2 years and never had the problem. I haven't added any thing in the last month or so to the circuit and it does it with dish network receiver and the dvd player so I don't think its a source problem. so is it the TV, the surge protector, or do I have bigger problems

I'm thinking voltage tripler for the high voltage section which drives the picture tube. I don't think you could replace it. :(

That sounds complicated. Its still under warranty you think it might have to go to the repair shop?

Unplug the TV from the surge protector, and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If it still happens, it is probably the tv (might be the outlet, loose wire, try a differnet outlet to see). If the problem goes away, chuck the surge protector.

That would be my first guess. You're gonna need a new one sooner or later, so you might as well order it now. I dunno about the sony's, but it was really easy on my panasonic.

I would definitely put my money on the bulb.

I've seen failing bulbs do that a number of times. Sometimes they start to slightly flicker other times they will jump between dim and bright, or sometimes a combination of both.
