Volex 17604 and 17605 power cords (same cable, just different lengths) can be had cheap at http://cbchome.carlton-bates.com/

next step up would be the PS Audio Super and/or Plasma Punch, which can be had at audiogon for $30-$50 for 1 or 2 meters.

Signal Cable, would also be good.

If you're comfortable doing it, the Signal Cable cord can be DIY'ed pretty easy. The cord used in the SC is available at Lowes and Home Depot for (last I checked) around a $1 a foot. I believe it is a Carol cord. Parts Express carries it too, along with all the connectors you would need.

You won't find anything like that at lowes. They don't have any IEC connector type stuff, at least not that I've found...

Just yesterday I received an order from monoprice.com. I ordered a whole bunch of power cables to clean up my setup. Gone are all of those unnecessary 6 foot cables. In their place, a whole bunch of 1 footers and 3 footers. Shorter HDMI cables, too. All very reasonably priced and good quality. I'm not sure I'd want a really long power cord for my subwoofer though, unless I knew it was near or the same gauge cable as what was in the wall. Most home wiring is done with 12/2. For a long sub power cable I'd want 10 gauge, then 12, I'd probably pass on 14 gauge for anything longer than a couple of feet.
