Anyone knows how to make 970HD to remember where it left off, when player is turned off and played again later? All of my other players remember where it stops and play from that point on even after stopped and put on standby. It could be in the manual, but I am too lazy to track it down. If any owner knows off hand, please share. thanks.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

My Panny has 5 memory DVD sets.
My Sony will remember a DVD along as you don't push stop twice. Even after you turn the unit off and back on.

    No Oppo experience..........

yep, Scott. My Pioneer is the same way as your Sony. Surely this is a simple feature that should be there for all DVD players out there.

top left corner of the remote, just under the power button. Push MEMORY and you'll be good to go.

You're the man! SoccerPlyr! It works! it's a good compromise, considering I still has to remember to hit MEMORY before turning it off, but I am content. Thanks!
