Anyone else get that feeling that this is the beginning of the end for our nations pasttime?

1. Allstar Game fiasco
2. Yet another strike on the horizon
3. One team that won't be able to make payroll next Monday and another headed there.
4. Salaries ranging from 5 - 20 million a season. More bankrupt teams coming soon.
5. Two teams most likely given the ax at the end of the season.
6. Steroided out players. Bonds, Sosa and McGwire, who do you think you're fooling??? Don't give me that over the counter supplement crap!

    It looks like it is not just baseball, Enron, Worldcom and such. Who is worth that kind of money? I mean really, the one upmanship gone crazy, how or why the owners didn't EFF this a long time ago is beyond me, or the fans, 25-40.00 tickets, you know the story, tickets parking eating and something the kids can take home 200.00 easy.

    There is a very good point about teams like the Braves and Yankees have tons of cash (from TV revenue) to spend on salaries, and a team like Milwaukee (I am guessing) having a tough time making ends meet, so how can there be a level playing field?

    I would love to see the owners all say X amount a year total in salaries, and stick to it. Eff them if they "are worth more" give me a ticket price I can afford, give me a competitive team, I will watch it. The what team can afford the most expensive players is boring, I am not sure how you find these things out, but a few years ago they told that Greg Madox made MORE in a year than the whole starting rotation in Chicago!

    Baseball is in bad shape, Nobody can argue with that. Its not just the owners, the players and there agents are a big part of the problem. A strike will really put a big hurt on baseball. Dont worry though, Football is right around the cornor...

    Money hungy people will stay money hungry as long as the public keeps feeding them. Just like Enron or Worldcom CEO's that are never satisfied with their huge saleries and allowances. Do I feel sorry for a player that only makes over half a million a year. Hell no. I have to work a full year to make 1/10th that salery. And I help our Veterens working at a VA Hospital. Those are the heros I tell my kids about. Not the ball players that play for a living.
