Lat week I purchased the harmony 880 Pro.. I have been messing with it and trying to get a feel for it and its capabilities over that time. I have come to the conclusion that I dont like it. I am looking to trade out this remote, but would like to get some feedback from owners of other activity based remotes before I do..

Would you care to give more details? Some people (including myself) have been thinking on getting the 880; I have the 659 and love it, but was thinking on going up just for some of the additional features.

    Thanks (and welcome)

I was in the same boat. I bought a 880 but didnt like the activity based macros. They just weren't flexible enough so I bought a URC200 and its perfect. The macros are alot more flexible and does everything I need and more. One tip, if you have programed the 880, before you take it back, you can transfer some of the discrete functions into your new remote. I did that with my tv's inputs so I can go directly to the inputs when programing macros rather than scrolling thru.

I agree with Moe.. The macro's seem clumsy to me and after programming it (web based), some of the functionality you think would be there wasn't. Now granted, I can go back into it and manually configure some of those additional features, but its just a pain in the a$$. And, the resolution of the images you can place on the background, slide show and favorite channels is low IMO.

I have a phillips Pronto 3000 and it drives me nuts. I'm notcrazy about the touch screen and set up is crazy. If you buty one at Circuit City, they will come out and program it for aroud $100.00. If I get a new one I'm spending that extra set-up fee.

Did you even read the first post????

Anyway. I agree with those above recommending the URC200. It is a great remote. Personally it would not quite meet all my requirements so I stepped up to Universal Remote's MX-600. It has been GREAT! Dollar for dollar I prefer Universal's remotes over Harmony.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

I've been looking for a universal remote at a good price for a while now, off and on.

This thread caused me to look around again at Universals' offerings and prices.
    Thanks

Decided to go with the URC300 form Amazon at a great price.

They also have the URC200 at a great price.
