new mm12 subwoofer mounting question

I just bought the new mm12. It a sweet sub and the new enclosure it comes with looks really sharp. My question is this. It comes with mounting brackets and screws...am i supposed to screw the brackets into the sub box? i woulnd't think you would want to for fear of air holes in the box. The directions on how to use the mounting brackets are really sketchy. Let me know if you have any insight.
