I am looking at purchasing a set of speakers from a gent on CL. The package is a pair of RT800's, a pair of RT f/x's, a CS400i and a PSW400. The package is selling for 500 dollars. My question is, is there a resource to look up the relative value of these speakers? If so, is it available on the internet? And finally, is this a good deal.

The gist of it is that I am looking to purchase this package as a whole and split it with a CP member. We are looking to find how the funds should be split.

As always, thanks for the reponses.

as a package deal.. i think it's good.. as long as there is no shipping charges you have to pay for.

I'd check Ebay and Audiogon for what those are currently going for.. or buy an Orion Blue Book.. pricey book, but worth it.

Take a look at past ebay's completed listings to get an idea of value for each of them. I found some RT800's and a CS400i locally, and here is what I found about current values:

    RT800's: $185-$250, depending on condition
    CS400i: $175-$225
RT-FX's: haven't researched these for a while, but somewhere between $100-$135 would be a fair bet.
    PSW400: no idea

Thanks so much. I actually called Polk customer service and they gave me the blue book value on these. The RT800's are between $348-450, RT f/x's range from $143-190, cs400i= $180-240 and the sub around 200 dollars. Obviously, these are BB values and not what they actually sell for, but still seems like a good deal to me.

Next question is, Does anyone have any opinions about any of these speakers. I am looking for a budget concious tower speaker and have heard some good things about the RT800's. How about the others?

    Thanks again.

yeah.. that's high BB value on those RT800's. they are not even the "I" version sounds like.. the CS400i is a good strong center speaker.. people are always looking for them.. you'd have no problem selling that baby. ;)

I'd love to take the CS400i and the surrounds off of your hands - and I'm local (Fairfax, VA).
