My city would shut down for a month with that sort of coverage!
For crying out loud, IT'S OCTOBERI never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore -
You got it much worse than I did Frank. No wind and not a trace of snow here"The secret of happiness is freedom. The secret of freedom is courage." Thucydides

Just got off the phone with my sister-in-law, I might be making a trip to her place soon. They live in an older suburb and the trees in their yard are taking a beating. She said that they've had a few large branches snap off and hit the roof already. She wanted to go out and clear some of the branches herself...not a good idea since they have over head powerlines. I reminded her about those....she decided to stay indoors with the kids. -
I just threw up in my mouth.
I am NOT ready for winter yet. Just took a walk and my ears are freezing (low 50's with whipping winds today). Might have to turn on the heat soon :-(If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Frank Z looks like you got caught off guard.. with the lawn mower still out.. huh?
Surprises us here in the Northwest some times too. all of a sudden we'll wake up to snow.. and we're never ready for it either. I'm ALREADY looking forward to spring.... but I know there's at least 5 months of winter ahead of us first. Damn it! :eek:PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

It's really cold and windy here in jersey. I'm sure the snow will be here by us within a month

Power just came back on, we were without for a few hours. I walked over to the grocery store, that kicked my weak ****! The store was still open, thank goodness for emergency generators!
Luckily we're stocked up on food and meds and really don't need to vebture out today. The last time we had a storm like this was 9 years ago. Some folks got trapped in the mess and never made it home. A few weren't found for a few days....scary to say the least. -
I can't wait! We only got a few snow flakes here in Pit, WTH?

Been a while since I had any of that. Here in Dallas, had to turn the AC back on today!"The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson

Damn, I was in the pool today...

Just got back from the grocery store...again.:p We left over two hours ago and got there in about 20 minutes, less than 5 minutes in the store and the rest of the time was spent pulling people out of the snow. What a hoot! We pulled a Coke employee about 2 miles to his front door cuz he kept getting buried. The look on peoples faces as we yanked fullsized diesels, mini-vans, cars, trucks, etc., was priceless.:D Nuthin' like blastin' through 2-3' snow drifts as folks are all slack-jawed shoveling their driveways. Looking forward to making a beer run later!! After that it's my one beer and I'm done for the night.
