Denon 3806 Cutting Off

Brought home a new pair of LSI 25's this weekend and my Denon 3806 is cutting off at high volumes. I'm guessing they just need more juice. My question is will an amp completely solve the problem? If so what specs/model do you all recommend? Will manipulation of the volume and crossover knobs help me till I get an amp? I have the switches set at Auto and Normal. Mind you it cuts off after 0 and I can live with volumes less than that for now. Just trying them out for a spin around the neighbors house - poor ****. I appreciate your expertise, I am a newbie audiophile and have actually purchased this particular equipment after reading other posts in this forum.

    "Speakers need juice, badly.
    Amp is about to die."

    Some Gauntlet humor.....

Volume 0 huh? Thats pretty loud. Try Sunfire, Rotel, or Parasound. If your on a budget, try Outlaw.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

you need an amp that can handle 4ohm loads.. the LSi speakers are rated at 4ohm. your Denon is running out of steam as you've found out by it shutting down. Get yourself a nice 2 channel amp. they are all over Ebay and Audiogon.

He has an all LSI system, which he likes to play LOUD! He needs a 5 channel amp of at least 200 wpc!

All of your speakers are being underfed because a Denon is not designed to push 4ohm speakers!

If he had read this forum as he said he did, he would have known to get an amp from the get go!

cathy's right, but if he has a 2 channel amp laying around, it would at least help in the short run take a little load off the Denon.

Marcinko, easy on the volume until you get the amplification in order. underpowering blows out speakers (particularly tweeters in my experience) far quicker than overpowering. If your amp is clipping from overexurscion (and I'm sure it is) that will tear the LSi's up but quick.

Thank You for the responses, I knew I would have to get an amp I was just hoping to get it last and listen to some good music while the bankroll caught up. I have been keeping the volume low since it shut off. I actually have an old Sharp 150wpc two channel amp that I will hook up temporarily until I can get the amp I want. Thanks again for the warning I damn sure don't want to tear up my new babies.

I have aquired a used Outlaw 750 via ebay spec'd at 5x165wpc@8 ohms and 5x250wpc@4 ohms. The seller's rating was 100% positive. Is this a good fit for the system? I wanted to get something quick before I sparked the Denon and really don't want to shell out $2K right now.
