Here is what I bought.

Problems
No upconversion without HMDI
In the manual it says unless it is hooked up with hmdi it is still 2 channel sound. It says it produces 5.1 sound. I have 30 days to return it. How long does Oppo take to deliver?
Any help would be great

It took Oppo a week and half for my 970HD from the time I order it online, and that's because of out of stock back in May 06. If they have in stock, I would say within 4 days to TX, from Mountain View, CA on UPS ground.
Please do a search on this forum for Oppo threads, picture quality is hard to beat, and with the hack, you get upconvert over component (on 970HD, not 971HD).I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -

My 971H, running DVItoHDMI for video and optical for sound into a Denon 3805 is excellent. I've found that I prefer 720p over 1080i on most things (my Sony LCDTV supports 1080i.)
