bump....curious to know if anyone elses sub is almost off to get it at 80db. I have a svs pb10

If your sub channel is set too high on your receiver, the sub amp setting will be set lower. Make sure your crossover isn't set too high..... 80 hz or below.

A balanced sub is one that doesn't draw any attention to itself during music or movies on normal passages. You shouldn't be able to tell when the speakers hand off to the sub. Too many people tend to boost the bass for effect.

The level for the sub is set to 80hz and the sub volume on the avr is as low as it goes I had to go adjust the volume on the sub to get it 80db and it's at 8 o clock. Turned it to about 10 o clock and I can tell it's there.

I guess thats what it is then. I'm used to hearing it and like the effect.

    crank it!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I know what you mean though... my stupid **** friend. has his sub cranked up so high... you just get pounded with bass on entire songs and soundtracks.. even commericals... you get hit with to much bass

I have mine set just slightly higher than what the SPL meter says.. and during the right passages on soundtracks.. it hits deep and hard. otherwise. it's just fine for most things i listen to .
