MOMO 6x9s vs. MOMO 6.5

I just replaced my stock 8in. door woofers in my corvette with Polk Momo 6X9s. The sound is way, way better than stock. I went with 6x9s as opposed to 6.5s so I could avoid a sub. The sound is good but I think I might add a sub.

I am a novice. If I do add a sub do I need to get rid of the 6x9s and get MOMO 6.5 comps? Am I missing out on that much sound quality with an oval speaker?

My current config is:

Alpine head unit 9857
Eclipse 4x75W RMS Amp
JL Audio XR 5.25" coax (rear)
JL Audio TR 3.25" coax (upper door)
Polk MM 6X9s (lower door)

I don't think you'd need to get rid of them. Especially if you already like them. You could always cross them over lower if you were afraid you weren't really using the 6x9's or something.

Absoultely not! The Momo 6x9's are the best 6x9's on the market and my personal favorite coaxial speaker. I would always take them over the 6.5's, even with a sub.

If you want more bass add the sub. If you like the sound of the 6x9's keep them. If at a later point you want component set that will give you more detail you can then switch over to a 6.5 component set.
