I almost have exclusively bought Panasonic VCR's (dating myself) and DVD players. They have good picture quality and features and at their price point, I think that they are up there with the best (although I have heard great things about OPPO). I never hesitate to buy Panasonic brand electronics for their reputation and quality of customer service.

All of my panasonic purchases have stood the test of time. HTIB still in the bedroom (albeit no longer used as DVD player and using different speakers), little 15" TV (10+ years old) being used in my office at work. . .

I'd buy Panasonic against most, if not all, comparably priced manufacturers.
Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand
Bedroom: Samsung HPR-4252, Toshiba HD-A2, HK 3480, Signal Cable, AQ speaker cable, Totem Dreamcatchers, SVS PB10-NSD, URC MX-850

I'll have to check when I get home - not sure of the exact model number, but would definitely recommend it with no hesitations.

    I'll let you know.

HomeTheater, just fyi, the Panasonic DVD player that I have is the DVD-RV31. Nothing fancy, just a solid entry level DVD player that meets my needs. Good luck with the new purchase.
