Need help getting a CD player $300 or under

Was trying to get some info on the Denon DCM390 but know seems to have on yet guess thats a bad sign:) Ok Should I geet a single or a carousel player. On the verge of putting together my setup from scratch. Leaning more toward 2 channel. While your at it can anyone reccomend a could well mid entry level preamp???
