Hi, long time lurker first time poster. I have a 7.1 setup with Monitor 60 fronts, monitor 30 surrounds. Can I use the FXi3 with the Monitor series? I'm trying to eliminate have dual LR surrounds and just have one FXi3 on each side. Should I try this or stick with monitor 30 surrounds?

Thanks.

    Jay,

you have a 7.1 system, if I understand you correctly, why would you want to eliminate having the 30's. Move your 30's to the surround back position and try the FXi3 at the surround position. As far as I've read, the FXi3 is timbre matched for all series so give it a try. The FXi3 is my next set of speakers to buy so let us all know how it sounds.

    csi5
    onkyo tx-sr603
    sony xbr bravia lcd

Rod, thats exactly what I'm doing, thanks. I actually have 2 sets of 30's for duplicated surround channels, so each row of my theater had its own set of 30's for surrounds. I want to get rid of 4 and go to 2. I think I'll give the dipole / bipole a try and let you all know how it goes.

    Thanks!
