Broken Adcom Pre and Amp FS

I've got an Adcom GTP-500 II and an Adcom GFA-500 II, both of them have only one good channel and the other one does not work. These were passed on to me after they broke so I have no knowledge of how it happened. If someone is interested in trying to repair them or use them for parts let me know. I'd like to get enough money to warrant my time for boxing and shipping them or arranging for them to be picked up (Baltimore). I think $75 for both of them is pretty fair, considering if you can fix them they should be worth about $500. Cosmetically they are in good condition.

Let me know if there is any interest

Considering they were passed on to you after they broke, have you tried anything to repair them?

Would the $75 include shipping, or would that be an added cost?
    Ludicrous gibs!

I took the covers off of both of them to see if I could spot a chip that was fried or some other type of obvious damage and did not find anything. Not sure if that is a good sign or a bad sign.

Shipping at added cost. They might be 40ish pounds together so that could be restrictive (although MD to PA maybe not so much) I can get you an exact weight if you want

edit- and to clarify I was not aware that they were broken when I bought them and I had a little disagreement with the seller, but that was 6 months ago and now I am just trying to get them out of my closet and on to someone who might be able to use them

There is no such model as a GFA 500 II amplifier. A typo I'm sure. What is the correct model # of the amplifier you have?

I don't suppose it would be suitable to meet you somewhere in PA for a hand-off, would it?

It may end up being more expensive than shipping, in the long run.

Does anyone know which model the amp is?

Sorry for not getting back to everyone, for some reason I wasn't getting email notification.

Anyways, I made a mistake, the amp is a GFA-555 II. (considering there is no gfa-500)

I would rather not split them if at all possible.

I think it would likely be cheaper and much less hassle to just ship to PA. It seems like shipping will be only $15 or so for both.

    Dan,
I might be interested in taking both. Do you have the remote control for the preamp/tuner? I think you might be closer to 50lbs since the amp is a 555II

    Bill,
I agree it is likely about 50 pounds especially with shipping material. Sorry I forgot about the remote entirely, but yes, I do have the remote, and I may also have the original manuals for one or both pieces. I can check this evening.

Bill, sorry, didn't mean to offend you or anyone else but I didn't know that you were definitely intending to buy. Also, had I gone by "dibs" order you would have been 4th in line, anyways. I may be selling a few more fully working amps/preamps pretty soon so look out for those.

It really only looked like Nadams was in front of me. Heiney was just asking what model, anonymouse wanted to split (you said no). I was speaking for Nadams and myself when I said so much for dibs.
Thats ok. I probably don't have time to deal with them anyway.

You didn't step on mine. I was asking questions... Yeah, I was probably interested, but I didn't put my money where my mind was :D

Unfortunate, but that's how these things go sometimes. The only reason I inquired was because if it was the smaller GFA-535 II, I would have been interested.
