I've got a set of Polk DB6500 components in my front doors, they're currently running on head unit power, but will soon be run off an external amp.

I'm thinking of hooking them on a 4 channel amp, bridged @ 200 watts RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms @ 12v, so a little more than 200 watts per speaker/set.. is this too much? Rated at 100RMS/300MAX. What do you guys think?

It's that, or I have an xtant 202m that will do 50 watts RMS x 2 @ 2 ohms stereo @ 12v, a little more than 50 watts per channel.

Any help is appreciated :)

Yes. Bridging a 4 channel amp isnt all that great anyway especially when it means youll be over power your speakers.

However, a 4 channel amp is the best thing to use on a set of components. Run the tweeters off the front channels thru the crossover and then run the mids full range off the rear.

I was thinking about that, I was thinking i'd pick up another (sold my last one) deh-p860mp and run it in pro-mode using the 404m (after I find another one, just sold my last one) for the components and the x1001 for my lows.. I suppose that's what I'm going to do.. thanks!

I installed them 2 weeks ago. Got a great amp for them. Profile makes a 2 channel 1200 watt amp. at 4ohms Its 300 watts per channel. I had to change the phase of the tweeters because they were to loud. Im not sure if your aloud to post venders but this millionbuy.com company is hands down the best and cheapest ive ever seen. They have prices that are half of crutchfield.
