He he. I'm pulling a Joey here.
I have the chance go get either one at a VERY good price(both priced the same). But seriously, guys, I have no idea which one to go for. I love my LSi9 but hate their mid-range and upper bass hump. I'm sure this should be non existant in the 15 because they're crossed at 150Hz. The little woofers are just handling the easy stuff, unlike the 9's.
Now the Klipsch. Efff man, I love Klipsch. I love their 'live' presentation, slam, dynamics, clarity, etc. The Cornwalls are 1982 version. The x-over, drivers, etc can be upgraded to the 2006 version (selling new for about 7k).

I never thought, I'd get this confused, but now I know exactly how Joey feels:) lol. You guys know me, which speakers should I go for?

Maurice

Thanks Amulford. So far I'm thinking Klipsch, but LSi15 at $1000 is also a steal. That's 1000 Canadian. They retail for 2500 here.
I think I'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight.

go for the one you really want.. and if you don't like it.. sell it. why limit yourself just to one brand? Plus you are already disappointed with the LSi9's so go for the Klipsch.

How about buy both, compare, and sell the non-keeper?

Strange comparisons of late: Lsi9 vs. ML Summits, and now '82 Cornwalls vs. Lsi15. I'd stack up the Cornwalls vs., something like the SDA2B, or mabe RTA12C if you're looking for slam, dynamics, excitement and presence.

Thanks a lot for the help, guys. You just made it that much easier for me.
Sean, your post knocked some sense into me. I didn't think about getting killer ss gear for the LSi. I was just looking at the price (same for both models).
Fred, I can't buy both. I'm tight on cash and can only afford one at the moment.

Well, here's an update. I decided on the Klipsch earlier this afternoon. So I gave the dealer a call and they still have the Conwalls. We arranged delivery for this upcoming Tuesday. I didn't realize how big the Cornwalls are. They're huge and weigh about 100 lbs each. I need to start preparing for the wrath I'm about to get from my parents. We planned to get it delivered early in the afternoon while the parents are out.

I'm so juiced. I've always wanted a pair of Klipsch speakers from their Heritage line but can't afford the new models and never found used ones locally for the models I wanted. The La Scala was what I wanted but now I'm getting something even better. The Cornwalls have the same mid and tweeter but is much better on bass.

I'll post pics when the monsters arrive.

    Thanks again, guys.

No way Sean. You have (and had) killer gear. You still have stuff right now that many people would give up their left nut for.

    Joey,
Pics will be up tomorrow. I called the dealer again today. They will arrive between 2:30 and 3:00 tomorrow. I'm going to move the RF35's away now and put on my Polk RT15i for tonight. Should make it easier to get the Cornwalls into place tomorrow.

I just passed a pair of Klipsch Cornwall for $500 in exellent condition bc no room for them. They need a really big room to rocks, my just 14'x17' not enought for them :(

The 9's out hump the 15's, in my head at least. If they (Lsi 9) don't blow your skirt up, I really don't expect the 15's to. YMMV.

As detail oriented as you are, and knowing the music you listen to from our chats, I don't know that the Cornwalls are a long term solution either. What are your thoughts on JM Lab? Heard em? Love em? Hate em? B&W doesn't take a lot of power to shine, ala your ASL's.....

    Thinking outloud here....

    Cheers,
    Russ

Big rooms are WAY overrated. Nearfield, intimate settings are where it's at (detail and dynamics).
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

    CR,
I'm actually doing nearfield with my Corns. I did decide to get them. I sit about 10ft away from each speaker. The result is spectacular. They're the best speakers I've heard to date. If you ever come across a nice pair at a good price, you should pick them up. If you don't like them re-sell.

    Russ,
True. The thing I like most about the LSi is the soundstage and mids for the softest vocals. I'm just not ready to go all out on a ss amp to make them shine.

I really like Beemers also but it's just too much money for me. I've never heard JM Lab.
