Music CDR/CDRW's??

Ok, so I pop a CD into my new CDR-HD1300 to burn a copy of the Sarah McLachlan stuff so I can listen to it on the road...and it says it's 'Not Audio'. Bummer. It won't accept any of my CDR ('cause none of them are 'music' CDR's).
What exactly is the difference with a 'music' CDR? And, more importantly, where can I find them?! I've searched BB's, CC's, and CompUSA's website, and haven't found anything that says it's a 'music' CDR.
Thanks!!

any CD-R will let you burn music onto it... have you used that brand or CD-R's before? But yout got a new CD burner, and now it won't burn a CD-R? Very odd. try a different brand of CD-R's i guess.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I've always used Verbatim CDR's, and they always work in everything, 100% of the time. BUT, everything I've read says that the CDR-HD1300 requires you to use a 'Music CDR'. I do believe I've seen them referred to around here before, but I've never actually had any experience with them before.George Grand wrote: »

you could be right.. but just seems weird that you'd have to use specific "music" CDR's just because your burner says it uses them. but anything is possible these days.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I've seen the 'music CDR' at staples.

I'm pretty sure the only difference is 'music' ones share royalty $$ with riaa (note the "Each audio disc records up to 80 minutes of music or stores up to 700MB of data"). I'm guessing the CD company is just encouraging you to share your wealth with the music industry.
What software are you using to burn? 'Audio' cd's do have to be burned differently than data cd's, but the software can even convert mp3's in to audio (wav?) files for normal cd players. -

Dead on... as part of the whole CD licensing thing, any gear that ONLY does music CDs (vs data& music) has to use "Music" CDs that give a kickback to the RIAA. They cost a little more.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19
