Just got the Rhino records release of Black Sabbath greatest hits 1970-1978. We have the Ray Charles 5 dics set and when I saw that Rhino did this release I had to hear it. I have been wanting some Ozzy in the collection and all other releases didnt seem like a good rep of the band. The Osbournes produced it and it rocks. Any headbanger must have this in their collection. If by the 3rd song (the wizard) your not frying eggs on your amp your not a rocker. Just turn it up to 11 and set back and rock. Master of Reality was the first Black Sabbath lp I owned. The recording quality is great on some songs and ok on others. It seems that some of the older songs sound better than the newer ones. But since tubes were used in most everything in the 70s it doesnt suprise me. The first time I listened I thought I blew the Vifas in my car but have listened at home and it was the strings on the guiter slapping. War pigs, black sabbath, the wizard, paranoid, iron man, sweet leaf, children of the grave, changes all are well recorded. The photos and bibliograghy are very nice. Tony Iommi is my god!
