FS: SDA SRS 1.2 TL's

I guess a promise is a promise (to my wife), and since the AL-III's are growing on me by the hour, I am putting up for sale my 1.2 TL's. Maybe I'll hate myself some day for doing this, but for the type of music I hear the most (jazz, vocals, classic..), the ribbons are a better match. Would love to keep them for a second rig, but don't have the space or the funds.
So, here they are; unique piano finish 1.2 TL's; custom made for the editor of Stereo Review at the time. I will rate them 7/10 cometically due to some nicks and scratches; cloth is in perfect condition, with just minor stains that can be cleaned; I have been too busy enjoying them to do it...They do look good; only one of the scratches in one of the side panels is noticeable from some distance.
-New tweeters all around
-Upgraded crossovers with Solen/Mills and new polyswitches; great improvement specially in lows.
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37333&highlight=1.2+TL%27s
-Upgraded binding posts and SDA connection mod; eliminated the original jack and used a binding post for the "pin" connection; as you all know the blade only connects the negative posts of both speakers, which is achieved anyway by using a common ground amp. If anyone wants to use non common ground amps, the special connector can still be used as long as the negative posts from the speakers are connected; not a big deal.
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36963&highlight=1.2+TL%27s
These speakers sound as nothing I've heard; they will rock the house. With the right amp, you will kill your ears before you hear any distortion. No popping in any of the drivers; sonically I'd rate it 11/10
I'd love to have someone in the Polk family have them...who knows, maybe I can buy them back sometime.
Local pick up only; I have no intention of shipping these babies. Auditions are welcome (all you guys coming back from Polkfest...I'm only two miles away of I-75 and I-71, 20 miles north of Cincinnati).
Will leave them here for a week, then take them someplace else.
Please post interest here FIRST, then PM me. If using Paypal, please add 3%; I'll accept MO's or cash.

Holy crap do those things look beautiful in black!! These have been my dream speakers and I've never seen them in anything other than wood. I just sold my black SDA-1Cs and these would have been a perfect match. Although it's not like I have the money for them anyway. And considering the WAF for my 1Cs, if I bought these I'd likely be getting a divorce. Good luck with your sale, these should go in a flash.

Incredible speakers. You posted them at a good time, no ice or snow anywhere or hurricanes for that matter and the price of gas has come down. I would hate to see them go to audiogon or ebay even tho you could get more for them there. Is anyone else thinking that these are worth the drive to keep them in the family? Hopefully someone that lives closer than me. What am I talking about. I'm sure they will sell here.
-
I drove 600 miles round trip to get these...the same 600 miles I drove to get the SRS's that I sold Joe...oh, yes...Joe drove more than I did
Come on Joe; you need to keep the family together...just sell a couple more parachutes this month_________________________________________________

Go for it Joe! These are one of a kind in piano black finish!
CarlCarl -
There were two pairs of these custom black speakers made, these TL's and a pair of SRS's; I first bought the SRS's, then bought the TL's (from the same guy in Eureka, IL) and sold the SRS's to Joe...he must keep the family together_________________________________________________

YES YES YES....ME WANT THEM, ME WANT THEM. But if I am to remain in a marrried state, I need to sell something soon. Ricardo, please hold off and keep them for me. I'm gonna start listing some stuff on the Bay to get rid of and get some extra cash.
Again to all polkies...I'll sell my 2.3tl and/or my 3.1tl. They are in MINT condition.

You most definitely need to get yourself copies of those 2 movies, especially
"2001, A Space Odyssey". It was/is a work of art and was WAAAYY ahead of it's time. I "2001" saw in hi-def a couple months ago and was amazed at how well it has stood the test of time."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

WHAAT? How can you not remember the monoliths? Its the central part of the movies? Geeze...You most definitely need to get yourself copies of those 2 movies, especially

I saw that too on HDNet Movies. They looked beautiful. You do have to be WIDE AWAKE to watch that movie though. Definetly some slow parts, like 10 minutes without dialog. Most chicks can't stand the movie. The 2nd (2010) is a much different movie, mainly because it wasn't directed by Kubrick. Its not artsy at all.For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
oh...."that" 2001 movie...yes, I recall seeing it ages ago; might be a good thing to re-watch with new technology ._________________________________________________

Know what you mean there. I'm in Netfix and I've accidentally added movies to my queue that I've already seen. Usually they are the more forgettable ones though. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -

How many amalgam fillings do you have? I was having the same memory problems which I hope will improve now that I'm getting rid of the amalgams which is almost as dangerous as leaving them in.
