Kim Jong is like the Michael Jackson of North Korea. He has been leading a prividged life without any consequences to his behavior or any set of values to govern any logical decisions. Because of him, everyone in North Korea is F#%ked! No food, freedom, just condemed to a dismall life because of this idiot. He truly believes he is a god, and insists that his people pay homage to him in this manner.Carl

Kim's all pissed off because his nation is running short on thier Dippity Doo supply. I mean, come on! What dictator doesn't want to look his best??"she had the body of Venus, with arms."

The obvious solution to all of this stuff is... a MONTAGE!If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I just watched something on CNN last night about north korea. A guy smuggled a camera into NK and tried to film what the regime does to its people. it shows a few N-koreans get executed just because they talked to the outside world. very sad...
too bad we can't do something about it, already have too many problems. China, Sk, and japan are probably NK's (well, their citizens) only hope.AVR: H/K AVR240

Not sure that China wants to deal with the aftermath of overthrowing the government. They are still very hesitant in even recommending or following any embargoes since China is worried about having to feed millions of NK refugees. Though we can hope China will take action, it is doubtful at this stage.
Worst fear now is that since NK needs some type of capital to feed their ever growing military and population, Arms deals is the second most lucrative income. Worries are that Kim Jong may be desperate enough to sell live nukes to the highest bidder so that he can acquire that needed income. If you are a terrorist, there is nothing more feared by the populace than the fear of a nuclear bomb sitting in your midst.
This crisis presents itself with several choices for the world such as invasion of Korea to extinguish this threat or the promise to compensate (i.e. see extortion) Korea, making them more powerful, for not selling their warheads. Either choice is not a good one for the US.

Won't happen. North Korea is in China's best interest. Having a bad guy in the neighborhood makes them look good. The world knows that China is the only country who can truly control North Korea. China can use that power as leverage when they do such things as point lasers at our spy sattelites. They're given diplomatic leeway that they normally wouldn't be given if North Korea didn't exist. -
The UN is looking at sanctions against them. Japan has already imposed sanctions on their own. Its good to see someone else give a **** about something.

UN sanctions are useless (see Iraq) because they don't do **** to uphold them. The UN is not only a paper tiger, it's completely corrupt. Go oil for food.
Trey and Matt said it best about the UN:

This is a bit rambling, my apologies:
China won't do much until after the 2008 Beijing Olympics. It's their coming out party. Then watch out, all bets are off. The Chinese have been working with the NK refugees for years. The belief is that they want to setup a second Tibet in NK, but with current ex-patriots.
You can bet that one reason that Dippity-Do Kim ran the test now is that with winter approaching, the outside world will not impose sanctions that would cut off energy and food.
Revolution from the inside won't happen as long as the army gets food, no coup will happen. But if that changes (chances are it won't), look for the generals to rise up.
So, it all comes back to China, they control 70% of NK's energy supply. We need to remember that the Chinese play by rules of a marathon, while the US prefers the sprint.Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))
