This vendor is fantastic. Some of the best customer service I've ever encountered. They're local for me, so I've worked with them face-to-face. They have this "deal of the day"... will be good till some time tomorrow. Thought it's a pretty good price, so figured I'd post it up.

Whao; those ratings imply it's a beast:
# Rated Output (20Hz - 20kHz) 8ohms 275 watts x4 (all ch. driven) / 800 watts x 2 (Bridged mono)
# Rated Output (20Hz - 20kHz) 4ohms 400 watts x 4 (all channels driven)
However, it also says:
Power supply Toroidal; Power Consumption: 600 watts
400x4 into 4ohms doesn't quite jive with a consumption of 600 watts. Sounds a lot like the inflated specs on receivers, to me.

I don't know any details on this unit... figured you guys would. Just thought it sounded like a good price for what it is, so maybe someone can chime in who has some with experience on it?

I'm with you Mike. This would be a good bi-amp piece of equipment. Marantz is reclaiming their name in many circles. Their receivers and amps are highly underated. You could bi-amp a pair of small or medium size SDA's with good results!Carl -

Carl,Back in the day,I had a Marantz Model 15 Amp. a dual-mono design, that I had setup with a Marantz 3200 Pre-amp.
An old Yamaha t.t. and a pair of Sansui speakers...I wish I still had the Marantz amp...it was sweet and commanding at the same time. -

Mike that Model 15 is worth some cash. If you still had it you'd probably sell it for a high power amp:D
I have a small but very nice collection of vintage Marantz separates. Including the 150 tuner, 3800 preamp, 510M power amp, 6300 turntable, 5025B cassette player, a 2230 receiver, 5010B cassette player and a 104 tuner. All of my separates have wood cabinents. I use my vintage system to power my original Monitor 7's and my CRS's. Because of my larger Polk system in the family room, my vintage Marantz gear is rockin' in the workshop.
I'd love to get my hands on some Marantz tube gear. The Model 7 preamp and Model 8 power amp and oh yeah, the 10B tuner. That setup would set me back close to 10 large. A nice dream though.

It appears to be a switching (class D or G maybe) pro amp. I'd pass. Definately not vintage Marantz. As a pro amp, probably a good deal though, but there are other pro amps out there that offer similar output specs.

Carl, damn nice collection of vintage gear...in their day Marantz was about as good it gets.
I bet you spend a lot of time in the workshop...yeah...working..right:D
That workshop sounds more like a playground!!! -
Wow, something that is actually made in the USA. At least that's what it says on the back of the amp. Manufactured by Ashly Audio."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,
CAUSE I SPEAK OF THE POMPITIOUS OF LOVE" -
Those marantz amps starting shipping in Nov of 2003 and were not pro equipment but standard Marantz gear designed for the installers more than anything else. They had a 4 and 6 channel version. The intent was to get 7 channels you buy one of each and bridge the 6 channel to get 3 for your front stage and use the 4 channel for the other 2 pair of speakers. I know they were designed in NY so its not just manufactured in the US they were actually designed here as well.
I wouldn't mind having them myself as I currently run Marantz gear. I love there stuff and think it is pretty good quality and sounds very good.
