Hello guys!

I'm trying to see if the LSiC will fit inside my cabinet. I notice the specs say that the speaker is 9" deep, does that include the power ports? If it does not, what is the total depth of speaker with the power ports in the equation?

Thank you for your time!

Mike

Yes that measurement includes the power port.

    Frank,

Why would it sound like crap in a cabinet?? I'm not closing a wooden door in front of it silly, then it would definetly sound like crap! It's an open cabinet, I would never enclose the center speaker. Thanks for the heads up....

    cmy330go-

Thank you! That's the answer I'm looking for!

Your speakers (LSi's) should never be enclosed in any type of cabinet. The center channel especially. It's going to sound boomy in low end, and the mids are going to be muddy.

    Try this,
Place the center channel in the cabinet, properly calibrated and angled toward the listener, and listen to a favorite piece of music. Then take the CC out of the cabinet and place it ontop of the cabinet and recalibrate and position the speaker at the correct angle again and listen to the same piece of music. You'll be surprised at the difference.

    Frank!

Let me explain this to you again! The center speaker WILL NOT BE ENCLOSED IN ANY TYPE OF CABINET.

If you seen my set-up, you'd know what I mean. I don't have anywhere else to put the center channel in my set-up, I have a buffet type plasma pop-up stand. If I put the center directly on top it would be in the way of the plasma. The center channel will be right below the plasma in an open shelf. It's at perfect ear level when sitting in the couch.

    All I asked for was measurements, Polk-a-dweeb. : )

Frank is correct. If you enclose the LSiC in a cabinet it will sound boomy.

    Mike,

What they are trying to say is if the center is surrounded at all by cabinet (meaning sides, top, and back) it will alter the sound of the speaker, giving it a boomy, somewhat muffled sound. They understand that there is not going to be a door in front of it.

If however your stand is a rather open design you shouldn't notice any significant loss in sound quality.

    Hope this makes sense.

I can attest to that, it really does affect the sound in a negative way...CCs should be over the screen perhaps on a shelf instead of any wooden enclosure.

I understand that, and thank you guys for your concern. I have no other choice but to use that option for my CC placement. I guess I'll have to deal with it, as I have NO where else to place it. Thanks guys...
