Frustrations of attending concerts

Top 10 reasons girls piss me off at concerts:
10. They think that ugly singer is always "so hot" when he's on stage performing.
9. They drink one beer and are falling all over the place. (steep stairs are dangerous!)
8. They stop in the middle of the already too narrow aisles to call their friend and say "OMG, that concert was SOO great!"
7. They bring big posters reading "I love you!" or "So-and-so is HOT!" as if it's the most original thought there ever was.
6. They point their hands in the air to the beat. (that just bugs me)
5. They insist on screaming in unison.
4. High heels are their ignorant shoe of choice.
3. They just HAVE to take pictures during the one song they know.
2. They wear **** clothes, as if the musicians can see them from all the way back there.
1. They stand up for that hit song only... just as you were getting comfortable sitting down.
Sorry, I just had to rant. Went to a concert last night, and it's ridiculous.

Yep. Concerts suck. It's another great reason to invest in audio gear.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

LOL Nice Dane, real nice. You summed it up completely. If the girls are HOT I can usually over look their behavior, but even then it can be quite annoying. Regardless of the behavior of others I just don't get the same experience out of concerts I used to. I've only been to a handful of artists in the past 5 years. Jewel was a highlight a couple years ago as were the (2) Page/Plant concerts from 10 years ago. Both were extremely enjoyable for different reasons. I am much happier seeing a local blues band in a small intimate club or bar. The crowds drive me insane and if I can't be relatively close to the stage it's not worth the money to me.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -
Heels and **** clothes. Problem? They should all wear their communion outfits or something?
-
Of course not. But for example, let's say this concert is a boyband concert or something. One where there wouldn't be many men attending... do they wear their **** clothes? You're darn right they do! It's not for the other concert-goers, it's some pitiful attempt to get the band member's attention. :P

I think you need a beer, Dane.If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Were you at a Justin Timberlake concert or something? I think maybe you should have consumed a few of those beers and relaxed a bit. Don't worry about what everyone else is doing and have a good time. I go to a concert or show nearly every single week. I love live music.

I'm not that uptight. I still enjoyed the show, and was amused by those things. Nothing REALLY bugs me that much. Just thought you guys could appreciate the generalizing.
And for the record, it was The Fray's concert... my wife is a big fan. But Justin's new CD is actually pretty decent, if you're into urban hiphop pop rap stuff. -

Never say never. I like an extremely wide variety of music, from John Coltrane, to the Eagles, to Elton John, to Red Hot Chili Peppers, to Chopin.

Ive just recently been to a great show. Staind, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Crossfade, Hinder and some blackeye cherry or something (was the opening band, missed em cause i was running a bit late). I was lucky enough to buy a pair of Pit tickets for my wife and I. Was an awesome show, my only complaint would be that i purchased a premier parking pass so i would be close to the entrance, but by the time i got there the "premier" parking lot was full, so i was a bit pissed. But other than that it was an awesome time. Best time ive had on a sunday yet.
Im a bit depressed though, Eric Clapton is going to be here next week and i wont be able to attend. From what i hear Robert Cray will be playing with him and i have to miss it.
DaveOnce again we meet at last. -
live concert performances are great.. no matter what public event you go to there will always be people who can't behave themselves.. **** or not. ha ha ha
You can't beat a live performance.. i don't care how good or how much dinero you spent on your audio system. Something about live performances just makes the hair on my knuckles stand up. LOL
I think there may come a time when very few musicians tour anymore.. instead just making recorded music to download on the internet. Or prices will be so out of the world.. very few will be able to afford it.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I just saw James Taylor a little over a month ago for the 3rd time, and I have to admit he still puts on one of the best shows I've seen. Of course it didn't hurt that Steve Gadd was sitting in on the drums. That's one legend I never thought I would get to see live. What a pleasant surprise that was!!!
Clapton puts on an AWESOME show. I really hope to get to see him again soon. His show is in my top 3 of "best all time shows".
I usually try to stick to shows where I know the crowd is going to be pretty mellow. Seems that most older more mature acts pull crowds that are fun, but not so rowdy that they detract from the performers.HT

I actually think one of the BEST ancilliary benefits of concerts are hot, ****, drunk babes.
I'm not seeing the issue.

Indeed, Troy, indeed.
I may have appreciated it more if I wasn't with my wife. -
Just hook your thumbs thru your belt loops.... proceed to jab people in the side. Watch 'em part like Red Sea as you make your way to the front of the stage. Like Demi said, "I love live music". Ain't no subsitute...
If you get caught up in what everyone else is doing, then you might as well have stayed home....I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore
