Picked this movie up on the cheap. I watched it in a theatre when it came out and didn't like it but totally enjoyed it last night. We get these ideas about some movies because of all the hype but in reality they are not always what we remember. Great soundtrack!

I went to a midnight showing of this once.... kind of similar to the Rocky Horror in scope and presentation.

    It was a blast
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

This really is a very good movie. All the hype about Disco music and John Travolta makes some people cringe. I wholly enjoy this movie. Yeah, very good sounding DVD with regard to it's age.

The famous dance sequence...kick up the volume and enjoy a blast from many moons ago.

I am just the opposite. I thoroughly enjoyed it when it first came out and don't care for it at all now. For some reason I did not remember it being that racist and sexist.

    Getting older I guess.

A good period movie. It caught the culture, music and young lifestyles of the era.

When they dance to "Willie & The Hand Jive" it is sublime. The "You're The One That I Want" duet at the end is great too.

Max, I have the soundtrack on vinyl for you.

I almost wore the soundtrack out when I was "little". I still have it somewhere - time to break it out again - maybe this time I'll actually watch the movie as well....

A momentary deviation. I believe I DO have both the Grease AND Saturday night Fever soundtracks on vinyl, in case anybody was following where I was leading. I get Travolta in my head and everything gets all fuzzy. No rum involved John, and THAT'S sad.

I knew what you meant. Crack some of the rum open anyway. Got me a nice Vodka and OJ buzz going here on a Saturday night!

What a heartthrob. Sigh. He looks so....piloty in his airline pilot uniform. I love men in uniform. If I didn't sell it already to somebody here, I have a Travolta double album un-opened, I think. Yup, just checked, still gots it. Max?

Uh, thanks but no thanks. You might want to keep it un-opened. :)
