Sim Card Reader: Anyone ever use one?

I stumbled upon this today while I was researching portable hard drives.
Does anyone have any experience with them. My main goal is to get the information off my wife's and I's sim cards, since both of our contact lists are so long.

If this isn't a good idea, I'll look for another way.
Thanks

Never had experience with that. I have the cable so i can plus my phone right into my pc and do updates. Doesn't look like a bad product though. Depending on the phone the sim card can be a **** as far as takign apart the phone to get to it.

I don't use that product, but have a card reader in my computer that uses USB and I use it as a small hard drive. I have also a SD reader in my Laptop so these files work there also, my palm uses a SD card so with a USB driver this becomes an USB Jump drive moving files with me where ever I'm. If just moving data files, it can change the way you look at computers.

SIM cards are slightly different than SD / MMC / all those types of cards, as they hold your phone's REAL information on them as well, so I assume there's some decoding to do.
So I'm sure you could get the data off, the question si can you do anything with the data once you do get it off, and will it even be useful in another brand of phone? It may require you to find some special program to handle everything.
Your best bet is honestly to get a cable for your phone, and use the software from the phone manufacturer to back everything up.
Alternatively, if you want to go with the SIM card reader, just buy a few spare SIM cards and use the reader to make direct copies. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
I don't really care about data manipulation once I get it off the card. Direct copying is my main focus. My current card is 32K, and I've almost filled it up with phone numbers. I'd like to get a 64K card, so I would have more room.
As far as data from one phone to another, I haven't had problems just switching SIM cards out.
I save all of my contacts to the card, and I have been able to access them from one brand of phone to the next. If I have the information saved to my computer, and I lose my phone, I can just copy the numbers to a new SIM card.
I also thought this might be a good alternative to buying a different cord every time I upgrade phones. Right now, I would have to buy two. I have a Nokia, and my wife has a Motorola.Tschüss
