Since my UPC-200 has a few hours on it, I popped in the same reference CD I used initially. Sounds great. Certainly not bland anymore. I love detail. I think it makes music sound more musical because it reveals vocal inflections, thus adding to the realism.

There remains slightly less bass; that might be a good thing if it really didn't belong there in the first place. I dunno. Anyway, I'm digging the new power center. Looks nice, too, and they're half off right now. Good deal.

Awesome.... I've never been much of a bass hound - I just ask that what is there be accurate.
They normally retail for $499, right? So $250? Where?
I might just pick one up....
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Two sellers on audiogon are selling them for $228 and $229 with $20 shipping, I think.

Yeah.. I saw that... along with the two sets of dealer demos for $200 apiece that were snatched up in seconds. Maybe it would behoove me to get off my lazy **** and check music direct, eh?:p

I'm looking at $250 new or $200 used.....

Damm you Early, Damm you. ;)

I have been quitely snuffing the ps audio jones for a while, last weekend I got a demo on F1's and BlueMD's gear with the psaudio, now you with the thumbs up!!

OK, uncle, I give, I am officially going to get some ps audio stuff.

BTW, F1's gear and SDA TL's with the ps audio power conditioners and cords had some of the best bass in a 2-channel rig I have ever heard and I have heard a few rigs in my years. The blue lights are pretty too boot.

    RT -- go for it!

I've always had a wet spot for PS Audio's power cords. Their power center was a logical progression. Not sure if it's worth retail, but for half price NIB, it's hard to beat (pun intended).

I have a feeling it will (for better or worse)...

I received this unit over a week ago, and thought I'd finally share a couple of my impressions. First of all, the unit looks sharp -- especially next to my RCD-02 (I'm enamored with the dueling blue LED's:D ).

A noticable, but slight increase in micro-detail...
Bass-extension (if not, slam) has been improved slightly....
I was hoping my highs would smooth out a bit, but no such luck (possible tube preamp fix?)....
    Slight improvement in channel separation...

Overall... it seems I paid more for peace of mind than any drastic changes in SQ. Still worth every penny in this regard, as everything else really is icing.

I also have a feeling that if I removed the UPC-200 from my set-up two months from now, the change would be much more noticable than when I added it...

if that makes sense... which it may or may not...

Talk to me about the differences, merits, benefits, flavor, charms, motifs, etc
of the PS Audio Ultimate Outlet (high current) vs the PS Audio UPC-200....

differences in aesthetics aside, what is the difference in function?

    Thanks

Aside from convenience, I've never used anything but power centers (non-conditioned, whatever that means). Never could find a reason to get a conditioner, my system is dead quiet. I use a panamax multiple-outlet thingy, I don't think it does any conditioning.
